Information We Collect

Telescopo, developed by Bad Command AI, does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. The Telescopo app is built with privacy by design:

• No personal data is collected
• No tracking of any kind occurs within the app

Anonymous Usage Analytics

To help us improve Telescopo, we use a privacy-first, lightweight analytics tool called TelemetryDeck. It collects completely anonymized, aggregated usage data to help us identify bugs and improve the user experience.

Telescopo and TelemetryDeck do not collect any Personally Identifiable Information (PII). We do not track your IP address, we do not know your identity, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. All analytics data is thoroughly anonymized on your device before it ever reaches us.

How Your Data is Processed

All document processing happens locally on your device. When you open a document with Telescopo:

• Files remain entirely on your Mac
• No data is uploaded to our servers
• No cloud processing occurs
• Document contents are never transmitted

File Access

Telescopo requires file system access to open and display your documents. This access is:

• Controlled by macOS sandboxing
• Limited to files you explicitly open
• Never used to scan or index your files
• Revocable through System Preferences

Recent Files

For convenience, Telescopo maintains a list of recently opened files. This list:

• Is stored locally using secure bookmark references
• Contains no file content or metadata
• Can be cleared at any time
• Is never transmitted off your device

Website

The telescopo.app website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. No personal data is collected when you visit this site.

Setapp Users

If you access Telescopo through the Setapp subscription service, the application incorporates the Setapp Framework. Setapp collects basic usage data (such as app launches and duration) to calculate developer payouts. This data collection is required for the service to function and is governed by Setapp's Privacy Policy.
